To keep us all occupied, we went to Alvin and the Chipmunks and then to the mall to watch people last minute shop. I made sure Tyler took note of how many men were in the mall compared to women! We also loved watching the children cry that were too afraid to sit on Santa's lap!

We had Christmas Eve a week early. Jessica and Robbie were going to California for Christmas so we got together before they left and had dinner and exchanged brother and sister gifts. Tyler's football season started out great until he separated his shoulder. He was the quarterback and got killed one game. He sat out two weeks and was then cleared to play. In the fourth quarter of his first game back he was defending a pass and landed on his shoulder and broke the end of his clavical off. Yes, football was over and so was basketball!

Look out, Tyler's 15 with his drivers permit!! By 8:30 a.m. on his birthday he had taken the test and was behind the wheel!! He only made me and Morgan scream once!! Of course, what would a birthday be without a new pair of shoes (Tyler's greatest weakness!!) He had a great day with basketball camp, Lagoon, Cafe Rio and hanging out with his friends! The kid has more of a social life than any of us ever did!!!!!

We were so excited to see Wicked again. It was almost as good as it was in New York. We had a very interesting night. First off, six people showed up with the same tickets as us. Luckily our tickets trumped theirs. Also, half way through the play, the center section seperated and people were yelling for a doctor. An older lady was choking. It took about five minutes for them to get her out. What was interesting was the play kept going!

She's gonna be a Wolverine!! Lindsi has decided to take the full-tuition scholarship at Utah Valley University! She will be taking generals and will apply for the nursing program in Fall or Spring of 2010-11. She is very excited! She will live off campus and enjoy the sports & activities at BYU and UVU! Soccer season has started again. Stockton's 8 year old team was voted out of their league because they were winning everyone. They are playing in the U9 & U10 and they've found it's not so easy!!! They are struggling, but it will only make them better. We'll see how the season goes.

Last night Robbie and Jessica made it official! They're getting married July 21st in the Salt Lake Temple. We are so excited for them. We love Robbie and are so excited to have him as part of our family!! Stockton says, "Hey, now I have two brothers!!" They are both in the accounting program at BYU! (He said, he was looking for someone to file a joint tax return with next year!!) We couldn't have picked better ourselves for her!!

We just got back from Phoenix, Arizona where Ty's baseball team played in a tournament. We took 4th, which was great because we played teams from Arizona and California. At about 2:00 a.m., Stockton woke me up and said he didn't feel good. He started throwing up and didn't stop until about 6:00 a.m. He didn't leave the room all day Christmas. He made a bed with his feet outside in the warm sun on the patio, and his head inside with the air conditioning. That's where he stayed all day. It was funny because that night when he saw his stocking, he really didn't even remember he had gotten one that morning. It's a Christmas Day I think he'd like to forget! By 6:00 that night, he was ready to eat and things got back to normal.

Santa happened to find all of us at the resort. They put on a program and then Santa had a gift for all the kids. It was fun to see how different cultures celebrate Christmas. It was fun and the kids enjoyed seeing Santa!!

This afternoon we were meeting Brother and Sister Rivas from a branch in Puerto Vallarta. We had contacted them before we left Utah to see if we could help a couple of families for Christmas. We thought it would be good for the kids to give their Christmas to someone there. We took a bus into the older part of town and met them at Walmart. He is a counselor in the bisophric and she is the Relief Society President. They both spoke very good English, so that made it easier. We were all shocked when we went into Walmart. First of all, the smell about sent us all running. They had huge plastic bins filled with macaroni salad and potato salad and other things just sitting in the aisle, not on ice or anything. People would just scoop it into containers. They had hams that just sat on tables and other things we didn't know what they were.

When we finally met up with them they had picked out a few things. We ended up buying for three families and two missionaries from Mexico. We purchased warm blankets and some toys. We wanted to buy them some soccer balls, but Brother Rivas said they only needed the cheap rubber ones, because they lived on busy streets and the kids couldn't play outside. We bought some Barbies, Hot Wheel cars, Mr. Potato Head and some other toys. However, what was most interesting was they were more interested in food. They had us buy, dry beans, rice, oil, sugar, eggs, canned chicken, a few boxes of cereal for the elders and soup.

After three hours in Walmart we were all tired, but appreciated Christmas a lot more. We are so blessed and it was good for the kids to see how others live. It gave them a better perspective of Mexico and what other's view as important Christmas gifts.

Christmas Eve Morning

We started the day off with a little archery. It was some of the kids first time shooting an arrow. Everyone did very well, only a couple of arrows went high and wide. (Nobody was hurt in the process.) We played basketball and soccer to try and work off a few calories!!

2nd Day in Mexico

All we wanted to do Tuesday was to defrost. It was 87 degrees and we just sat in the warm sun by the pool. The kids started their pina colada challenge of seeing who could drink the most while we were there. Since it was all-inclusive, I didn't care how many they drank. We ate that night at a Mediterranean Restaurant that was very good. None of us could pass on the desserts. We knew we needed to find the gym and fast!!!

First Day In Mexico

The first day we got there about 4:00 p.m. Of course we were bombarded with people wanting to sell us a timeshare, but we resisted and made it through the airport. We finally got to the resort and spent most of the night getting use to where everything was. Our first dinner was at a buffet because we didn't have reservations at any of the restaurants. It was very interesting because it was Seafood night. (If you know us, that didn't go well). With the all-inclusive, we hoped things would look up in the food area!

Lindsi and her date had a great time at the Christmas Dance. We had about 3 inches of snow that day, so it really started to look like Christmas. They had dinner, went to the dance, and went bowling after. It was a fun night!

We decided to have a little competition. Who could make the best gingerbread house. It was Team 2 - Robbie, Jessica and Morgan, against Team 1- me, Tyler, Stockton and Lindsi. Team 2 went with the tradition Fruit Stripe Gum Roof and Team 1 tried a frosted shredded wheat roof! The decision was a tie!! It was fun.

Thanksgiving

We had a great time in Idaho for Thanksgiving. We had dinner with Grandma & Grandpa Hall and lots of cousins. It's funny what kids consider traditions, but my kids favorite is the lunch trays at dinner. They always look forward to them at Grandma and Grandpa Halls. We then went up to Grandma & Grandpa Calls and the boys went to play a little basketball. Black Friday didn't tempt us, however, we couldn't stay away. We went out about 9:00 went to a few stores and then had lunch! We finished off the evening with two games of bowling and visiting with family. It was a great weekend!

Thanksgiving Feast?????

I went to school for Thanksgiving Feast!! Yes it brought back lots of memories, and they weren't all good! The only good thing was they didn't make you eat everything.

I remember the basement of our elementary where the cafeteria was, and a teacher would stand at the garbage can to make sure you didn't throw any food away. They would send you back to the table to finish. We got to where we would put the cooked spinach in our milk cartons, but then they started shaking them to make sure they were empty. After today, I think I'll have to go to therapy to deal with the trauma!!

They had a dad dress up like an indian and he came and taught the kids some words and danced for them. It was really fun.

Well, today is a day I'm glad my kids are dressing up, and not wearing this every day!!! Ty and Morgan wanted to be skater dudes, and Stockton is Michael Phelps. (He took off the 8 gold medals because they bugged him!!

It's good to have the pumpkin carving over. I must say, it's much easier when your kids are big enough to carve their own!!

Cub Scout Stockton or Cub Scout Kay???

As you can see, tonight was our space derby at Pack Meeting. One has to ask the question, who is the scout??? In all the pictures, who is handling the rocket? The first time Stockton touched his rocket was when we got home after the derby was over. He was a great cheerleader for his rocket. They did very well and took the award "Best of Show"!!

High School Musical 3 Premier

We started our fun evening with dinner at Tucanos Grill at Gateway. It was great, but the chicken hearts were a little too much. Dessert of chocolate and caramel was to die for!!!

We then went into the theater at Gateway and watched High School Musical 3, 4 days before it hit the theaters. Tyler and his two friends just had to get a picture with the East High cheerleaders and we took time to pose with the stars!!! The movie was great. Way better than the first two. We had a great time!!!!

Halloween Dance

Lindsi asked a friend to Halloween by giving him a "yellow" slipper and asking him to find her. (Kinda like Cinderella and the prince.) He did finally find her and his answer was so cute....Snow White showed up in her room with this cute basket from the other princesses. A pumpkin from Cinderella, Gold Fish from Ariel, a rose from Belle and an apple from Snow White. She read her a bed time story about and answer for Lindsi and how the prince searched far and wide to find her.

Homecoming

In Saturday's game, Tyler got a triple play! He has playing short stop and was close to second base because he was holding on the runner. He caught a line-drive, stepped on second for the second out and threw it to first for the third!! There were a lot of oooohs and awwwws from the crowd!! It was great!

Stockton has waited 6 years to put on this jersey!! He is finally on his own competition baseball team. He has watched Tyler play on the Utah Bandits since he was 2, and now it's his turn to take the field. His baptism was at 9:30 a.m. and his first game was at 10:00 a.m. He will play 2 games for 6 weeks! It should be a lot of fun!!!!

Tyler has always worn #4, and Stockton's favorite number has always been #44. We just said it's because he is the second one to play that he added another 4!!

Byu Game

Since this was our last free Saturday for the rest of the Fall, we decided it would be fun to go to a BYU Football game. We were lucky because Karma and Wayne were here to help Randall get settled in at BYU. We had fun and of course we had to have an ice cream at the cougar eat! The bookstore was packed, so we only spent a few minutes there. BYU won and it was a great day!!

Jess is all settled in and has 5 great roommates. One from Washington, Colorado, Idaho and two from Utah.

Our Saturdays now consist of four baseball games and one soccer game!! Let's hope the price of gas goes down because we will be playing anywhere from Spanish Fork to Park City to Logan! Life is good!!!

One of the fun activities was floating down the Yampa River. The boys went a lot, but Jessica was done after one time down when she went over a rapid and hit her head. (She only lost her hearing for a short time!!) Kay, Lindsi, Morgan and Stockton went down a second time. They all had bruises from hitting their behinds on the rocks of the shallow areas.

We were so glad that Grandma and Grandpa Call joined us for three days. Of course we found the Candy Factory and fudge was a necessity. Stockton saw this jaw breaker and had to have it! He's still working on it!!

We had the biggest laughs because almost every restaurant we went to they were out of things. Wendy's didn't have any barbecue sauce, Coke, and grilled chicken. Next night, Pizza Hut was out of bread sticks, Subway only had white bread and no lettuce. Our favorite was when the movie theater didn't have any popcorn!! They didn't have much help in the restaurants so every meal took about and hour or more. We laughed because the local people would just sit there patiently, some even falling asleep before their food came. Boy, they know how to live in Steamboat

Steamboat Springs Colorado Baseball Tournament

Our team played the last tournament of the year in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We played teams from California, Florida, and Colorado. It was very unusal for us, but we lost all 5 games, 2 by 1 point. Ty played great with a batting average of .455 and no fielding errors.

They had a skills competition and our boys took first place in around the horn. Each boy got a $15 gift certificate to spend at a sports tent. Ty competed in the accuracy throwing and missed first place by one inch.

Restaurants don't love to see us coming!! We always get dirty looks when 47 of us show up for lunch!!

It was a great week.

Lindsi's birthday this year fell right in the middle of youth conference! Everyone was so good about telling her happy birthday, and the leaders got her a cake.

She got new running shoes, a pedicure, workout clothes and bioskin shin sleeves for when she runs!!

1st Place Rampage Soccer Tournament

Morgan's soccer team took first place at the Rampage Soccer Tournament. She's learning how to play the stopper position and doing very well!!

District Championship

It was a battle. We played Millcreek for the District Championship. We were down by nine and came back in the bottom of the sixth. The score is 24 - 25, runner on third, two outs and Stockton's up to bat. He hit a pop fly to second base and the game was over. You can't complain about being second in the district!!!

She Got In!!!!!

Yesterday Jess got her acceptance email that she had been admitted to the School of Accounting (SOA) at BYU!!!! It's been a long 2 months waiting to hear. Only 174 students were accepted and BYU is one of the top 3 SOA in the United States!!

We are so excited that she can finally get her schedule arranged and she knows what she's going to do!!

Days of 47 Rodeo

We had front row tickets to the Day's of 47 Rodeo! It was great to get back to the great smells of growing up! We were a little nervous when a bucking bronco crashed into the gate right by us and we loved the horses kicking dirt in our laps. It was a great night!

American Idol Concert

We had a great time at the American Idol Concert! We went two hours early and there were so many people that we had to eat dinner outside on the grass and we barely made it before the concert started. The best part was making David Archuleta cry because we were all so loud!! Our favorite performer was David Cook, especially when he sang "Don't Want To Miss A Thing." But our favorite thing of the night was 8 12 year old girls trying to pick up on Tyler. They kept asking him his name and how old he was. They were also taking pictures of him!!! I guess the gym is working for him!!

Stock's team is doing very well. We are two games away from winning district. This was a picture that a photographer took at the last game and I had to buy it!! It also gives me good ideas when taking pictures!

I know this will be a blog favorite!!! We've been waiting 6 years to see Kay in baseball pants. Stockton is on the pinto all-star team and we're 3-0. Stockton has gotten on base every time, except one time when the second baseman robbed him of a hit with a great catch! The team is doing great. We'll keep everyone updated!
